2026 Music Lineup

Sunday Girl
Dundee WestFest is thrilled to welcome Sunday Girl, one of the UK’s top Blondie tribute acts, to this year’s lineup. Expect all the classics delivered with serious style.

Lorna Bannon and Dirty Work
Pop-soul singer Lorna Bannon returns to Dundee for a hugely anticipated hometown gig. Having performed with some of Dundee’s best-known bands in the 1970s, Lorna relocated to London where she has carved out a hugely successful solo career. Under the name Sister B, she was a member of the Dundee-based funk group Rokotto while still at school, scoring two top 50 chart hits and twice appearing on Top of the Pops. She later sang with Shakatak on the Night Birds album. In 1995 she gained the biggest hits of her career, through being the credited vocalist on two top 40 singles with DJ Scott – “Do You Wanna Party” reaching number 36 and follow-up “Sweet Dreams” peaking one place lower. In more recent years she has fronted a touring version of Middle of the Road. Lorna is appearing today with her great friends, Dundee band Dirty Work, with a special guest appearance from her sister Brenda on backing vocals.

Boogalusa
Dundee and Scotland’s king of cajun and zydeco music, Boogalusa have stepped in at short notice after the unfortunate cancellation through illness of another one of Dundee’s and Scotland’s top pop-rock bands. Having played the very first Westfest in 2010 and entertained the crowds a couple more times through the past 16 years, Boogalusa are a hugely welcome addition to the line-up.

Truman Flyer and the Frequent Flyers
Hailing from L.A. and New York, Truman and her sister Flynn are appearing for the second time at Westfest, having appeared with The Living Roomers in 2024. Often compared to Blondie’s Debbie Harry, Truman’s very personal songs of love, pain and rebellion mark her out as a true force of modern American punk/pop.

The Vintage Girls
Scotland’s leading close harmony trio, The Vintage Girls blend vintage glamour, timeless classics and original music with their signature modern twist.

Tayside Young Fiddlers
Tayside Young fiddlers was formed by local musician Bob Edwards 30 years ago. He realised, that for traditional music to thrive it is essential that it is passed on to the next
generation.

Dundee Schools Rock Band
Talented pupils from schools around Dundee come together to Rock Westfest.
Sarah Buick Stage
Dundee Westfest is commemorating Sarah Buick, who tragically fell to her death while walking on Ben Nevis. Sarah worked for several years as part of the sound crew for the main stage at Magdalen Green, helping to ensure the smooth running of the live music at the event.
Sarah was always a cheerful and popular figure around the main stage and will be sadly missed at this year’s event.
Apart from being a really good crew member, Sarah’s bubbly personality always brightened us up on Big Sunday and we were all devastated to hear of her untimely passing.

Illogical Operator
You can find Illogical Operator in various watering holes and clubs playing all kinds of weird and wonderful stuff, but the backbone of any club set would likely involve off kilter house, leftfield techno with a judicious helping of wave, new beat and mutant disco. Catch them at Westfest!

Farmyard Radio
The obscure to the obvious, the sublime to the ridiculous, the punk to the funk…as we all know, anything goes down on the farm!

LOVELL
Growing up in the small town of Eyemouth in the Scottish Borders electronic music and the rave scene was hard to come by. LOVELL got the education he was looking for through seeing household names like Andrew Weatherall, Ben Klock and Fred P.
Over the last decade appearances at festivals, pubs and clubs has allowed Anthony to really hone in on the vibe and sound which he wants. Expect leftfield acid tinged goodies, deep house, slow mo techno and the occasional pop oddity from LOVELL.
