Funk Connection are a 10 piece outfit established in 2004 with personnel from a long line of local Funk, Soul and R&B bands.
From the Jackson 5 and James Brown to the Temptations, Sister Sledge and Chic, their musical influence is drawn from Funk and Soul classics that fill the dance floors of every venue they play.

The Living Roomers
LA new wave punk rock, truth spittin, ear turning, good vibe gathering organism. This female-led three-piece band make their UK debut festival appearance at WestFest, with other appearances scheduled in Belfast, Glasgow, London, Birmingham and Paris.

The Vintage Girls
The Vintage Girls are a premium class act made up of three professional singers and musicians, Susan, Mary and Kimberley, who enthral audiences with their tantalising sound, sleek style, and exhilarating vintage arrangements. Inspired by famous jazz icons and the golden Hollywood era; female trios of the 30s, 40s, 50s and 60s and energised by the Postmodern Jukebox revolution, The Vintage Girls can create any atmosphere from completely sultry to high-octane!
Described by one reviewer as a “rolling thunder of dark, theatrical rock ‘n’ roll”, our WestFest Battle of the Bands winner 2023, Arms Against, is a Scottish five-piece rock/folk/americana/acoustic band. The members of the band include local solo musicians and former members of other critically acclaimed bands.

Tayside Young fiddlers was formed by local musician Bob Edwards 30 years ago. He realised, that for traditional music to thrive it is essential that it is passed on to the next
Sarah Buick Stage
Dundee Westfest is commemorating Sarah Buick, who tragically fell to her death while walking on Ben Nevis. Sarah worked for several years as part of the sound crew for the main stage at Magdalen Green, helping to ensure the smooth running of the live music at the event.
Sarah was always a cheerful and popular figure around the main stage and will be sadly missed at this year’s event.
Apart from being a really good crew member, Sarah’s bubbly personality always brightened us up on Big Sunday and we were all devastated to hear of her untimely passing.
Around 7 is a 3 piece alternative punk rock band from Angus, Scotland. The band released their third EP, From Insult To Injury, in August 2022 and have recently release their new single, Broken, with plans to release more music in the near future.
Ruvellas’ are an up and coming 5 piece band who originate from Dundee. They incorporate an experimental style taking influence from genres such as Indie and Alt Rock and popular acts such as Arctic Monkeys, DMA’s, The Beatles and more.
Ruvellas’ goal is to revitalise the music scene and help others enjoy familiar sounding songs whilst keeping an original passionate style.

Doug on lead guitar and backing vocals, along with Sharpy on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, bring you a captivating blend of covers from the 1950s to current hits. Their skilled musicianship, heartfelt performances, and diverse repertoire spanning various genres promise an engaging musical experience. Get ready to tap your feet and sing along as MGH takes you on a nostalgic journey!
David Angus is a bonafide troubadour hailing from the bonny lands of Aberdeen. This singer-songwriter has been weaving sonic tales and serenading the crowds of his hometown since 2012, whether he’s busking on street corners or headlining prestigious venues. David’s music runs the gamut from tender, folksy ballads that tug at the heartstrings to electrifying rock anthems that elicit a primal howl of joy.
Sean Findlay with Adam Smith
An exciting duo from Dundee who are making waves on the Scottish Music Scene. Sean is a solo singer/songwriter and Adam is a fiddle player who have teamed up as a gigging outfit. They are making a name for themselves on the open mic circuit as hosts at Glasgows Legendary King Tut’s. What to expect? Sean will play a set of all his catchy original songs and Adam will play a trad tune also.
Jack is a singer-songwriter who has been gigging for 10 years with various bands/duos and is currently working on a solo-album. He is primarily a vocalist but plays guitar and Irish Bouzouki to accompany his voice. His music is deeply influenced by Lexi Campbell, the Scottish and Irish folk tradition and (more recently) free jazz. He writes songs about Dundee, Lex, personal experiences and abstract phenomena, none of which are particularly catchy or commercially viable.

Starting out as one half of Cage & Aviary, Jamie went on to carve out his own path; one lined with heady, tripped out sounds to move the mind and the body. Since going solo his music has does the rounds on labels such as Höga Nord, Emotional Especial and the dearly departed Bahnsteig 23.
Red Hot Blood
Veteran selector of cult jute city establishments reading rooms and Undetworld cafe, Red Hot Blood mixes up all things far out and unknown. As always, expect everything and nothing.
Dicky Trisco is a DJ who lives and breathes what he does. His passion for music and desire for good times is well known, and is based on years chasing that sound and that feeling around the globe. For him music is all about people and one thing Dicky loves is people. He is addicted to the way music connects people and makes for better days
